99% of The People Have It Right

The CBO released a report this week confirming what most Americans already know: the gap between the incomes of the rich and poor is huge and growing.  For over a month now, people from many walks of life, but lead by the young who had no hand in creating the current state of affairs in this country, have been mobilizing and demanding that our government and the world, pay attention to this very matter.

The CBO study measured incomes and the gaps thereof between 1979 and 2007.  The top 1% of income earners have enjoyed a 275% increase in their “take home pay” while luckiest of the remaining 99% have seen less than a 40% increase.  Is it me, or are these differences staggering?
