Following on the heels of Hawaii and New Mexico, activists in Massachusetts are working to make their state the next to pass a resolution to overturn the Supreme Court’s 2010 Citizens United decision, that allowed for unlimited spending by corporations and unions in elections.
The Boston Globe reports:
Massachusetts lawmakers and activists are trying to gain momentum for a resolution to overturn a U.S. Supreme Court decision making it easier for corporations and wealthy donors to pour millions into political campaigns.
Organizers of the Tuesday Statehouse rally say they want the Massachusetts Legislature to adopt the resolution calling on Congress to reverse the landmark 2010 ruling in the Citizens United case.
