What Can 69 Percent of Americans Agree On?

A new poll finds that the majority of all Americans and registered voters alike say super PACs, the non-campaign organizations that can raise and spend unlimited amounts influencing elections, should be illegal. Not only did 69 percent of those polled say that super PACs should be illegal, 78 percent of independents agreed, according to the Washington Post-ABC News poll:

The widespread disgust directed toward super PACs from voters comes amid a Republican presidential primary election season in which these organizations have played an outsized role….

All told, super PACs have raised more than $130 million and spent $75 million in the 2012 election cycle, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.

Who said Americans can’t agree on anything? Maybe that’s just Congress?
